Maintenance Tips and Tricks
Cleaning: For daily cleaning, use a mild dish soap or a pH-balanced granite cleaner mixed with warm water. Avoid anything containing lemon, vinegar, or ammonia, as they can damage the surface and remove the protective sealant.
Spills: Wipe up spills immediately to prevent staining. Use coasters to prevent water rings or condensation stains.
Sealing: Proper sealing protects your porous granite from stains and spills. Every 1-3 years, apply a penetrating sealer that’s been designed for natural stone surfaces.
Heat Protection: Use trivets or hot pads under hot cookware to prevent cracks from thermal shock.
Avoid Scratches: Granite is not entirely scratch-proof. Use cutting boards or mats when chopping or cutting to protect the surface from potential damage.
